Cold as Baguio

I can feel the Christmas breeze already. Nights have been so cold that there's a need for me to cover myself with blanket. Despite this, I still can't wait for Christmas, my most favorite day of the year!! Anyway, yesterday, I was asked by colleagues to host the afternoon session of the Catalyst, the first ever science high school teachers conference. Upon learning that I would be introducing "big-time" professionals, I almost threw up. I am really not used to hosting events. I have confidence issues, I think.

October is in! Aside from being the birth month of two of my siblings, October is that month which reminds me of the nearing Christmas holiday! I just don't know where we will celebrate this year's Christmas. Another Christmas in Baguio perhaps? I hope so.

I find cooking so delightful! I even asked my uncle two weeks ago to share with me some of his winning recipes like buttered chicken and lettuce and tomato salad. My uncle told me that he learned of those recipes when he was in New York. He just bettered the taste by adding more ingredients. Cooking is one of my current favorite pastimes because it gives me this good feeling of being domesticated!

Yesterday morning, I went to Camaing, Pangasinan to check the crops. I got to meet the farmers, too! Very fun Wednesday! Especially when I went to Lingayen Beach which is known as the Killer Beach. Sorry, I can't write details. I'm off to meet my trainor now.

I was there. I saw familiar faces. Friends. Some, secret enemies. And few pretentious, attention-seeking Bryanboy wannabes. I was underdressed; just wore my favorite CDG collared shirt, Izzue pants, and Crocs sandals. I'm sorry I wasn't able to take a picture of myself. I don't want you guys to see how plain I was in that supposedly chic event. Manila Fashion Week May 2011 wasn't chic at all. It was a hodge podge of drag queens from all over the Metro.

Now, when will I receive invites for Milan, Paris, London, New York, and Sao Paolo fashion weeks?

I just got home from the musical play titled Ako si Ninoy. Almost all of the students and teachers were there to witness the phenomenal play about the life of the late Senator Benigno S. Aquino Jr. I was expecting the presence of our Philippine President Aquino III, but he was not around. I guess he was busy doing something important, like washing his beloved Porsche sports car.

I've always been a fan of Mr. Neil Sedaka. His songs somehow bring me back to my happy childhood. No, don't even think that I was born in the 60s, it's far from being true, folks. When I was a kid, my mother used to play songs by Sedaka. So whenever the radio station plays a Sedaka, his soothing voice makes me nostalgic of the good old times.

It is an irony, though, that I constantly remind my siblings and younger fellows of the relevance of saving money for rainy days.

Almost a month ago, I had to ask Pie, my friend and fellow cat lover, to temporarily adopt Bongo because I couldn't juggle reviewing and taking care of the cat. She agreed. Well, I had an excuse, and I think it was a valid one. But now, I have Bongo back! Taking care of him is a no challenge at all, since we have just employed a housemaid.

What I feel now is sheer happiness. Meow!

Exhausted from the teachers' training held at Richmonde Hotel in Ortigas. Why wouldn't I? I was there from 9 am til 5 pm! But the training was fun! I learned a lot from some of Pisay's best educators.

Now, I'm waiting for the food to be served on the table. I'm hungry. I don't think the hotdogs that are being cooked will satisfy my intense hunger. For now, tata!
